Waypost Marketing Welcomes Paul Michael Garrison as Content & SEO Specialist
April 2, 2026“The start of a path I’m excited to follow.” That’s how I would describe my first sixty days as a Graphic Design Intern at Waypost Marketing.
As a junior Graphic Communications student at Clemson University completing my semester co-op, stepping into this role felt like an exciting leap from the classroom into the real world. I came in with a background in design and a passion for creativity, but nothing quite prepares you for seeing your work come to life on such a large scale. Within my first sixty days, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects that have challenged me, pushed me, and helped me grow as a creative.
In college, most projects have guidelines, a clear end goal, and a due date. At Waypost, every project is different, and every client brings something new to the table. That’s one of the things I’ve enjoyed most. I’ve had the opportunity to design 8-foot-tall event signage, complete website redesigns from start to finish, design mobile ads and print materials, and experience many sides of design in a fast-paced environment. Each project has given me the chance to think creatively while also learning how to design with purpose.
A mindset I’ve always believed in is that growth comes from stepping outside of your comfort zone, and my time at Waypost has reinforced that. From my very first week, I was trusted with real projects and given the opportunity to contribute. While I was still learning workflows, client expectations, and new tools, the support from the team made all the difference. Everyone is willing to offer feedback and collaborate, which made the transition into a professional role much smoother than I expected.
The culture at Waypost is something that truly stands out. It’s inspiring to be surrounded by a team that is passionate about what they do and committed to producing great work. One of the most rewarding parts of my experience so far has been seeing how much detail and care goes into every project. Being part of that process helps me better understand the impact of design beyond just aesthetics.
Looking ahead, I’m incredibly excited to continue growing with this team. As I transition into my role as a Junior Graphic Designer over the summer and head into my senior year at Clemson, I’m looking forward to taking on even more responsibility and building on everything I’ve learned so far. There’s so much more to explore, and I’m grateful to be starting my career in an environment that supports me every day.
