Michelle Griggs, Vice President & Creative Director

I wear two big hats at Waypost: Vice President and Creative Director. In my role as VP, I bridge the gap between Doug’s big-picture ideas and our team’s day-to-day execution, ensuring the company operates efficiently, stays aligned with our goals, and delivers exceptional work.

As the agency's Creative Director, I oversee all design work for Waypost and for our clients. I ensure that all creative work produced by Waypost accurately and positively reflects our clients’ brands, and I serve as the design lead on all our major branding and web design projects. I work with my design team to take the strategies developed by other team members and turn them into beautiful, functional, visual representations of our clients’ needs and goals. Most designers strive to stay abreast of current design trends or flashy new styles. But I believe that good design is not trendy. Good design is problem-solving. Good design takes the need of the client and cranks out a genius deliverable, regardless of current trends or styles.

One of my favorite things about Waypost is how we treat our client’s budget as if it were our own. We don’t implement complex marketing strategies or recommend major redesign projects for the sake of accruing hours or checking boxes; we identify the true needs of our clients, formulate strategies to solve for those needs, and create strategy-based deliverables that are both beautiful and intentional in their design.

I’ve been in the professional design field since 2008, at Waypost since 2018, and part of the Leadership Team since 2023. In my almost-two-decades of professional work experience, I can honestly say that I’ve never worked anywhere like Waypost. Our team just clicks. We genuinely care about each other, and that care bleeds into our work together. It’s an honor to work for a company whose values and purpose are actually lived out and not just buried in a company handbook.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, rock climbing with my husband (indoor and outdoor), and baking for my coworkers.
